My mothers maiden name is MacKenzie as far back as I can tell my family moved
from Scotland to Canada quite awhile ago, If you have any informtion on the
Canadian side of the MacKenzie clan please e-mail me it would be greatly
apreciated. Isn't it funny that after so many years of being in a different
country that the given names used by members of the MacKenzie clan are still
John, Alexander , William , Mackie. My grandfathers name is William Mackie
Mackenzie and his fathers name was Alexander Mackenzie I have uncles Colin and

Hi, The Mckenzie line before me is somewhat opaque. My paternal grand- father
whom I never met, lived for a while in the Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK area back in
the early to mid 1930's. I believe he died during the early part of the 2nd
world war through illness at ca. 40 years old. Seeing how many of us there are
has given me food for thought to give some clarity to my children's heritage.

I take it to be a privilege and a pleasure to sign this web page. I am
looking for information on my late father, Hector Campbell Frazer McKenzie,
believed to have been born in 1897 on the Isle of Skye. His father was also
Hector Campbell Frazer McKenzie, who was a gamekeeper and he drowned at sea
between the years 1902 - 1905. I believe his mother's name was Sheila Frazer and
she died when my father was eleven years old. My father was then placed in an
orphanage, possibly in Glascow. At age fifteen he joined the Merchant Navy and
spent most of his adult life with the Service as a cook. He died in November
1949 at the age of fifty-two while working for Ford Naval Aerodrome in Sussex,
England. My deceased mother informed me that my father was unable to obtain his
birth certificate. The only documents I have relating to my father are his
marriage certificate and his Merchant Navy discharge papers. I would be most
grateful to any person or persons who could provide any additional information
about my father or his parents. My colleague [Andrej Kozma] - e-mail address
>>> akozma@total.net will relay any and all e-mail to me.

I was just checking back in after some time. I need to up date anyway. I
found my Henry Buren McKenzie born in Rico, GA 1898 to John Edgar (NOT Edmond
like I thought previously) McKenzie and Lucinda Demonia. I was given info on the

McKenzie b. 1876 Houston County GA. Any information is greatly appreciated.
Also, those wanting to keep up with what is going on with the active McKenzie
newsgroup subscribe to Clan-MacKenzie-L@rootsweb.com ALSO, the Clan MacKenzie
Society Newsletter comes out to its members. They are putting together a
genealogy tree and everyone is welcome to submit their family so it will all be
together and easier for us to find our ancestors and trace our line. I saw it
mentioned but will mention it again. For $15.00 you can join at 4522 Bond Lane
Oviedo, FL 32765-9600. We are already making plans to visit the family clan
castle, Castle Leod, and participate in the Parliament of 2000 in Strathpeffer,
Scotland August 2000. Start saving pennies now and make this the best gathering
of our clan yet. The challenge was presented to beat the Fergeson clan gathering
of 40,000. Surely we can get more McKenzies than that to gather at such a
momentous occassion. See you there in 2000 Pamela McKenzie Carroll

I've heard the spellings of MacKenzie/McKenzie/McKinzie changed when someone
was trying to hide their identity. What are other reasons for the differences
when we know there is a common ancestry. My cousin, Bruce McKinzie(CeltHero@aol.com)
has done some geneology on our name but not sure what all he has found.

My Grandfather was Alexander McKenzie, born in Aberdeenshire Scotland. He
came to Canada in the early 1900's and eventually settled in Goodwater
Saskatchewan (near Weyburn Saskatchewan). He farmed and raised sheep and cattle
there. The family farm is currently run by my Uncle Donald Mckenzie and his sons
John and Graham. The farm has always been called Lomond Range. My mother, father
(now deceased) and I lived in Scotland in the early 1970's and were able to
visit where we believe my grandfather was born. A small settlement in the
Scottish Highlands - Aberdeenshire, call Locheal Cushne (this spelling is
probably incorrect). My mother and aunts have much more knowledge of my
grandfather's family history than I, so if anyone out there is interested, I
will do my best to attain it. I just had to make a comment immediately upon
discovering this wonderful destination on the internet. The world really is not

Fun Pages! I take it that you have either a maternal or paternal link to the
Breese family? I just started flippin' through your pages, so I haven't seen
that info yet. Charles seems to be a popular name in the Breese family: four
paternal links above me are all Charles, but one wasn't a middle 'Reagan', thus
the 'III'. I'm greatly enjoying your awesome pages! Thanks.

I am research my roots. I am Jackson on both sides: my father's side of
course and maternal grandmother was a Jackson. I am also trying to find the
relationship to Helen Jackson Breese. She is buried in a Jackson family plot in
Maple Grove cemetery in Horseheads, NY. I have a photo of a historical marker in
Horseheads erected by the Breese Family Association to mark where John Brees
(sic) settled in 1790-something. He was a soldier in the Sullivan Expedition
during the War for Independence that went up the Susquehana River. He and
several other former soldiers relocated to Chemung County vicinity after the
war. He was originally from New Jersey.
